Logistics of a Write-In Campaign
|
By now, most Americans in their forties have traveled enough roads in November to realize how difficult it is to play American politics outside of the antiquated and corrupt system now in place. Most scholars agree that a First-past-the-Post system will eventually lend itself to a two party system: one party for the group, and one party for the individual. We have also come to recognize that miles my vary given the two same cars we end up choosing every four years. Americans become whiners and complainers, but when it comes time for change they each go back to their respective teams. What I argue now may seem a bit crazy and even impossible, but with some research and basic math skills you will reach the same conclusion I have: a Write-in campaign can work.
Here is a ranked listing of states and their electoral votes in 2016. Currently under law, any Write-in votes for a American citizen running for President will only be legal in 41 states. Now, to win the Presidency a citizen must reach 270 electoral votes. So, how devastating are those 9 unconstitutional states which deny each citizen freedom of speech? The grand total of lost electoral votes is 54. If we take the aggregate of all fifty states plus the District of Columbia we find ourselves at 538 total electoral votes. If we take the 538 and remove 54 we find ourselves at 484. As you can see dear citizen of a Republic that those 9 unconstitutional states play a minor role in the overall picture of the electoral college. Any strong candidate could easily reach 270 inside that 484. Also on the this sheet is a legend which indicates a few things about the bastard child of states rights and ballot access law. I will not allow myself to go on a rant; rather, I will stay the course and meagerly point out that the 41 remaining constitutional states which count freedom of speech on ballot have their own means to that end. Some have just one single piece of notarized paper to hand in while others have many pieces of paper which include a listing of declared electors per congressional domain. And there are even fewer which have a price set for the Write-in Candidate. In conclusion my dear citizens, I didn't choose this method lightly. It will require each voter to physically write my name on a legal ballot. It will require them, perhaps for the first time in their adult lives, to behave in the manner the founding fathers expected of each citizen of a Republic. Authorized by Steven Wilson - President |
